Winch attended and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology in April 2022. While in college he worked as a Student Meteorologist at FSU Weather from October 2020 to April 2022.

He currently works as a Weekend Evening Meteorologist at WTXL ABC27 in Tallahassee, Florida. Winch joined the station in April 2023 after working part-time as a Freelance meteorologist at ABC News in New York City. He served the station for 11 months from June 2022 to April 2023.

During his tenure there he worked on the programs Good Morning America and World News Tonight. Born and raised in New Jersey, Winch grew up with warm summers down the Jersey Shore yet cold winters with Nor’Easters and snow. He was captivated by hurricanes and tropical meteorology from a young age watching the 2008 Hurricane Season unfold on his TV.

Soon after, Winch was impacted by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 where he was able to experience the aftermath firsthand. This allowed him to experience the sheer impact and power of Mother Nature, and how challenging storm recovery can be. When off his duties, he loves to keep up with NFL Football and cheer on the New York Jets. He also enjoys nature walks and trips to the beach.
