Donovan attended and graduated from Mount St. Joseph University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and New Media Studies in 2014. She then joined Mississippi State University where she attained her Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology in 2017. While in college she has the opportunity to work and intern at different stations across the state. She worked as a News Content Specialist and Weather Assistant at Fox 19 WXIX-TV in Cincinnati.
She currently works as a Reporter and Meteorologist at WLWT in Cincinnati, Ohio. Katie joined the station in July 2021 after working as a Freelance Meteorologist at Columbus Crew SC in Columbus, Ohio. She also worked as a Weekend Weather forecaster and General Assignment Reporter at WHIZ Media Group Southeastern Ohio Broadcasting Company in Zanesville, Ohio.
Further, she worked as a Weekend Evening and Noon Meteorologist at KWQC TV-6 News in Davenport, Iowa. Donovan worked as a Weekend Evening Meteorologist and Multimedia Journalist at KRDO TV in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She joined the station in November 2017 and was promoted to Weekday Morning and Noon Meteorologist in July 2018 and left the station in June 2020.
When off her duties, Katie might be found enjoying the Cincinnati food scene and she loves all things chili, goetta, and a good scoop of black raspberry chip. Additionally, she loves horseback riding, painting, fishing, hiking, and spending time with family.
