Burniston attended and graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geography with an emphasis in Meteorology and GIScience in 2015. While in college he interned at different stations and organizations across the state.
He currently works as a Meteorologist, Reporter, and Drone Pilot at WLWT in Cincinnati, Ohio. He joined the station in April 2022 and is honored to be part of the WLWT weather team. Before joining his current station he worked as a meteorologist and reporter at WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky.
During his tenure in Kentucky, he covered it all From being sent to Florida and North Carolina to cover hurricanes, to historic floods across eastern Kentucky, and the December Tornado Outbreak. In 2021, he was awarded ‘Best Weathercast’ by the Kentucky Broadcasters Association (KBA) for his coverage on-air leading up to the historic flooding. Further, in 2020 he was awarded ‘Best Meteorologist’ by the KBA.
Adam has also worked as a Weekend Meteorologist at KALB-TV in Alexandria, Louisiana. Additionally, he has worked as a Weather Forecaster at NewsLink Indiana in Muncie, Indiana. He joined the station in January 2013 and left the station in December 2015.
