After earning her high school diploma, Nam later transitioned to Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, beginning on a journey to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism.
Mary embarked on her journalism career, reporting in Spokane at KXLY-TV. During her tenure, she managed to cover the deadly Revelstoke, B.C., avalanche in January 2003, which garnered significant attention.
