Dr. Josh Eachus Biography
Eachus Josh is an American meteorologist serving at WBRZ-TV as a chief meteorologist in Highland Road, Baton Rouge, he joined the Station in September 2013 after working as a meteorologist for WTOV9.

Eachus proceeded to pursue his education at California University of Pennsylvania, where he successfully obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and later completed a Master of Science degree in Sports Management. While at the university, Josh engaged in a two-week-long summer storm chase across the country as part of his credited coursework.
Additionally, Josh attained his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University in December 2017. He specializes in communicating weather information effectively, especially during major events like floods, hurricanes, and tornadoes. His expertise is acknowledged through publications in reputable scientific journals like Weather, Climate & Society and Natural Hazards. Recognized for his achievements, Eachus advises industry leaders at meteorological conferences nationwide. Additionally, he launched the first Southeast Louisiana Integrated Warning Team conference, bringing together key stakeholders to improve local weather communication strategies.
Dr. Josh Eachus Career
Josh began his career at WTOV9, part of an award-winning weather team. Meanwhile, he served as an adjunct professor at Bethany College. Later, he joined WBRZ in September 2013, where he currently works. Eachus earned the National Weather Association(NWA) Broadcast Meteorologist seal of approval and has been an NWA and American Meteorologist Society(AMS) member since. Furthermore, in 2014, he and Pat Shingleton received an Associated Press award for “Best Team Weather Coverage in Louisiana.” Additionally, he was voted “Best Weathercast” in Louisiana by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters in 2021.
In 2016, Eachus initiated WBRZ’s “Dog Days of Summer,” an annual endeavor, whose aim was to promote adoptions for dogs requiring homes. Since its inception, Josh has collaborated with Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge, assisting in raising substantial funds and facilitating the adoption of numerous dogs.
