Following the successful completion of her high school diploma, Koopmans’s academic journey commenced at Washington State University, where she pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from 2004 to 2008. Concurrently, she gained valuable experience by interning at CNN’s American Morning in New York, NY, from May 2007 to September 2007.
Subsequently, Kelly advanced her education at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism from 2009 to 2010, successfully earning her Master of Science degree in Journalism, with a specialization in broadcast media. Kelly later joined KOMO TV, serving as a Weekday Morning Anchor since June 2012. Additionally, she grew up on the Eastside and is thrilled to be working for a station she grew up watching.
