Randi Rico Biography

Randi Rico is an American Meteorologist working as a Weekend Morning Meteorologist at WLWT in Cincinnati, Ohio. She joined the station in 2007 and has been working there ever since. She is honored to serve the Cincinnati folk and is happy to be part of the WLWT weather team.

Education | Career

Rico attended and graduated from Ohio University with a Degree in Broadcast Meteorology. Further, she holds both the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association Seals of Approval. She began her professional career at WCBI in Columbus as a Meteorologist. Rico then worked as a meteorologist at WDTN in Dayton.

She currently works as a Weekend Morning Meteorologist at WLWT in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rico joined WLWT in 2007 and is honored to be part of the weather team that ensures the Cincinnati people stay informed on the weather. Over the years of her professional career, she has covered every type of weather from the typical Cincinnati temperature changes to extreme and historic events.

Rico has had the opportunity to do some crazy things over the years at WLWT. She traveled to NYC to do weather with Al on the Today Show, swam with the sharks at the Newport Aquarium, repelled off hotels downtown, competed against Joey Chestnut eating brats at Oktoberfest, splashed down on the American Ninja Warrior course…and accidentally kicked over Slash’s guitar during a backstage interview at a rock festival.

Her most memorable moment was covering the damage caused by the Dayton Memorial Day tornadoes in 2019. Further, she covered the Ohio River flooding into the Banks, the Hurricane Ike windstorm…and plenty of snow.
