Taylor Alanis is an American multi-skilled journalist serving at KRIS as a Morning News Anchor. She joined the station in August 2021 after working at every anchor desk at KRIS 6 as an investigative reporter.
Taylor Alanis Career | Education
Alanis attended The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2009. In 2012, she earned her Bachelor’s in Mass Communication – Electronic Media. She interned at KSAT 12 TV from June 2012 to August 2012. There, she assisted in coverage when the president came to San Antonio. Her reporting career began at Waco-Temple-Killeen, Texas where she worked for two years reporting the Twin Peaks Biker Massacre, the aftermaths of two Fort Hood shootings, and an I-35 bridge collapse.
She worked for The Grove San Marcos as a Leasing Agent from March 2013 to July 2013. After working as a leasing agent, she joined KTSW 89.9 as a news reporter where she worked for six months. There, she wrote, interviewed, and produced news stories for radio weekly and anchored the 10 am newscasts on Monday mornings.
Alanis then joined KXXV in October 2014 as a multi-media journalist. There, she wrote, shot, and edited her stories for the 5, 6, and sometimes 10 p.m. She then moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, United States in May 2017 to work as a Weekend Anchor/ reporter at KIII-TV.
She now works as a Full-time Morning News Anchor at KRIS Communications in Corpus Christi, Texas, United States. Alanis tells stories to be a voice for the voiceless and make a difference in people’s lives. She sees the Coastal Bend as her home and appreciates all the people she has encountered.
When she’s not working, she loves enjoying all of the amazing food in Texas, being with her beloved family and friends, attending events and festivals the area has to offer, dancing, or going to the beach with her two rescue dogs Louie and Lola.

Alanis an Associated Press Award finalist and a Lonestar Emmy-nominated journalist, won the Texas Associated Broadcaster’s Award for an investigation that led to important transformations that will help the Coastal Bend community at the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Again, she won the inaugural Real Men Wear Pink and the American Cancer Society’s Dancing with the Coastal Bend. The League of United Latin American Citizens Council, LULAC # 1 recognized her during their Outstanding Community Leaders dinner Last year in May.
