Kathleen Bade is an American Award-winning journalist serving at FOX 5 as a news anchor. On Fox 5, she anchors every weekday at 5, 6, 10 and 11 p.m.

Bade enrolled at Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Her broadcast career began at Arizona State University. She attained her Broadcast Meteorology degree and certification from Mississippi State University.

Bade was the first to receive the coveted William Randolph Hearst Award in San Francisco. Since the station was launched, she has worked as the primetime anchor for FOX 5. In San Diego, she has been a force in the news market anchoring No. 1 newscasts and reporting events from the opening of Petco Park to spearheading election reports, hosting news specials on high-profile court cases, and major news stories. Bade has been awarded numerous Emmys for her work in journalism and honor for her work as a child advocate.
She was inducted into the ASU Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2004 after returning to the Sun Devil campus. After ASU, she landed her first on-air job in Yuma, Arizona at KYMA, where she joined as the evening weathercaster and fill-in anchor. Bade relocated to her hometown of Phoenix where she worked for the NBA’s Phoenix Suns.
At the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, she worked alongside such basketball greats as the incomparable Charles Barkley and Hall of Famer Connie Hawkins. What’s more, CBS in Phoenix heard about her and she returned to work as a morning weather anchor. Luckily, she was promoted to work as the weekend anchor in two years.
Bade found herself working for FOX and founding a brand new morning newscast named “FOX 10 Arizona Morning” as co-host after a market-wide station shuffle. Her impact was rapid, turning the show into a top competitor in the market in just three years. She was brought to San Diego by KFMB Channel 8.
Bade was excited to flee the heat and work for CBS for seven years. Again, she helped place a record number of kids into loving homes through her work with San Diego County Adoptions. After a brief break off the air, she relocated to the San Diego airwave with the liftoff of FOX 5 San Diego in 2008.
