Caitlin Irla Biography
Caitlin Irla is an American Anchor and Reporter working as a Weekend Morning Anchor at WNYT NewsChannel 13 in New York. She has been part of the station since January 2021 and initially serves as a producer of the weekend night news. She then moved to Morning and produced Early Today and Today for about seven months before being promoted to morning reporter and finally morning anchor.

Irla graduated in 2015 with an Associate’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Hudson Valley Community College. She then joined The College of Saint Rose graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus in Journalism. While in college she landed several internships across the state. She interned at Time Waren Cable News in Albany, New York Area. She also interned at WTEN-TV and worked as a Bank Teller at Pioneer Bank.
Irla began her journalism career in Utica which she considers her second home. Caitlin currently serves as the weekend morning anchor at NewsChannel 13. She has been part of the WNYT news team since January 2021. She started off producing on nights and weekends. Later, Caitlin moved to mornings and produced Early Today and Today for about seven months, before being promoted to morning reporter.
Irla is one of the few people who knew what they wanted to be when they grew up and who chose to follow their dreams. From a young age, she always dreamed of being the girl on the TV. Irla was inspired by Katie Couric at a very young age and developed a passion for news and storytelling.
NewsChannel 13 was her favorite station growing up. Before moving back to the Capital Region, she worked for WKTV in Utica for more than two years as a multimedia journalist and spent time filling in on the anchor desk.
