Lyndsey Gough is an Award-Winning Sports Journalist working as a Sports Reporter and On-Air Sports Anchor at WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. She joined WKYT in October 2022 after working as a Sports Director at WTOC-TV in Savannah, Georgia.
Education | Career
Gough attended and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. In College, she was the school’s Sports Video Student Assistant and Supervising ports Producer. After graduating she took on her first job as a News Multi-Media Journalist and Weekend Anchor and Producer at WBKO in Bowling, Green, KY. She joined the station in June 2015 and left in July 2016.
Gough currently serves as an On-Air Sports Anchor and Reporter at WKYT-TV in Lexington, Kentucky. She joined the station in October 2022. Before joining her current station she worked as a Sports Director at WTOC in Savannah, Georgia. She initially served WTOC-TV as a Weekend Sports Anchor and Multi-Media Journalist before her promotion in December 2020. She left the station in October 2022.
At WTOC, Lyndsey became the first female Sports Director in the Savannah market. During her tenure there, she covered sports all around South Georgia and the South Carolina Lowcountry, including The Masters, Georgia’s National Championship run, and the stars of the internet: the Savannah Bananas.
Some of her career highlights include covering Kentucky Derbies, a Heisman Trophy winner, multiple NCAA Tournament berths, bowl games, state championships, and the PGA TOUR.
