Alexa Minton Biography
Alexa Minton is an American Meteorologist working as a Weekend Morning Meteorologist and Reporter at WKYT in Lexington, Kentucky. She joined the station in May 2023. Minton is honored to be part of the WKYT Weather Team and is honored to serve the Lexington, Kentucky folk.
Education | Career
Alexa attended and graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with a minor in Mathematics and Digital Media in 2023. While in college she gained valuable on-air experience with the Live-Storm Team and the Channel 15 News – covering severe weather events affecting the Great Lakes Region.
Further, Alexa served as Channel 15’s Chief Weather Director, managing all weather-based content presented by the station. She currently serves as a Weekend Morning Meteorologist and Reporter at WKYT in Lexington, Kentucky. She joined the station in May 2023 and has been working there since. She loves the Lexington weather and its people and is honored to serve them.
In the Summer of 2022, Alexa found an opportunity to share her excitement for the weather with the Zanesville, Ohio community at WHIZ-TV. During her tenure at WHIZ, she acted as the Weekend Weather specialist for the region, providing accurate weather forecasts for the Southeastern Ohio Community.
Further, Alexa worked as a general assignment reporter, covering up to six stories daily, interviewing community members & local politicians, and filling in on weekday newscasts as an Evening Anchor. Her role included simultaneously working as a sports reporter where she covered local and national sports during the week.
Alexa also worked as a Weekend Weather Specialist at WANE-15 in Fort Wayne, IN. In the Fall of 2022, she was simultaneously providing weather forecasts for three stations and locations throughout the final term of her degree. When off her duties Alexa loves reading, traveling, and searching for the perfect coffee drink.

Minton was born and raised in the United States; however, information concerning her parents and siblings is not yet verified. We will, therefore, not talk about them for now.
