Mike Bush Biography
Mike Bush is an American Emmy Award-Winning Anchor and Reporter working as a Weekday Evening Anchor at KSDK-TV in St Louis, Missouri. He anchors the 5 pm and 10 pm newscasts with Kelly Jackson and the 6 pm newscasts with Anne Allred. He joined KSDK-TV in 1985 and has been working there ever since.
Education | Career
Bush attended and graduated from the University of Arizona where he majored in Broadcast Journalism. While in college he worked at WVUE in New Orleans. He currently serves as an Evening Anchor at KSDK-TV in St. Louise, Missouri. He has been part of the station since 1985 and anchors the 5, 10, and 6 pm newscasts.
Before joining his current station he worked in different stations across the state. He has worked at stations in Tucson and Kansas City before coming to 5 On Your Side as a sports reporter. He was promoted to sports director in 1986.
Bush started his transition from sports to news in 2002, anchoring the Sunday evening shows while continuing his work as sports director. In 2003, he moved to news full-time.
Over the years of his professional career, Mike has earned many awards. He has received dozens of Mid-America Emmy Awards, 18 Edward R. Murrows, and a National Edward R. Murrow. In 2012, he was inducted into the National Academy of Arts & Sciences Silver Circle.
Bush is known throughout the St. Louis community for his good news segment, “Making a Difference”, which he uses to shine a light on people who often fly under the radar while truly making a difference in the community.
