Rhori Johnston is an Emmy Award Winning Anchor and Reporter working as a Weeknight Co-anchor at WTVF NewsChannel 5 in Nashville. He co-anchors the stations 5, 6, and 10 pm newscasts and has been part of WTVF’s news team since 2005. Before joining his current station he worked as a News Anchor and Reporter at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana for 6 years.

Johnston was born in Houston and graduated from West Morris Mendham High School in 1984. He then joined Syracuse University graduating in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Johnston’s career in broadcasting has taken him around the country – including stops in Maine, Las Vegas, and Indianapolis.
He currently serves as a Weeknight Co-anchor at WTVF-TV NewsChannel 5 in Nashville. He has been part of the station since October 2005 and is honored to serve the Nashville Folk. Before joining his current station he worked as a News Anchor and Reporter at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana.
When off his duties he volunteers to speak to area students and emcee several annual fundraisers and events, including the Salute To Excellence Awards, the Strobel Awards Luncheon, the Button Ball, the Nashville Adult Literacy Council’s Bee, the Scleroderma Walk, Crohns & Colitis Walk, and Goodwill’s annual Impact Luncheon. Over the years of his professional career, he has received numerous awards and recognitions. He has received 7 regional Emmy Awards.
