Chanley Painter is an American Award-winning Journalist working at FOX News serving as an Overnight Anchor and Correspondent since she joined the station in February 2024. Formerly, Painter worked at Court TV as a Legal Correspondent.
Chanley Painter Education
Painter studied at the University of Arkansas where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in Speech Communications. She later enrolled at the Clinton School of Public Service and earned her Master’s degree in Public Service. She is one of the first students to pursue the concurrent Juris Doctor/Master of Public Service program.
This is the only degree of its kind in the United States, and the only place one can earn both degrees concurrently in the world. Chanley completed her studies at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law, where she was awarded her Doctor of Law certificate.

Chanley is currently performing her duties at FOX News serving as an overnight anchor and correspondent since she became part of the network in February 2024. She began her career when she worked at the Clinton Foundation for 6 months. From September 2008 to May 2009, Painter worked for Heifer International as a Consultant and Researcher. She assisted with a needs assessment for the new Murphy Keller Education Center, and provided Heifer with recommendations, based on survey and interview data, outlining ways Heifer could more effectively reach out and enable the stakeholders to take advantage of the MKEC.
Chanley also served on the Law Review Editorial Board, as a Symposium Editor for a duration of 1 year and 10 months. Throughout her time there, she devised, organized, and hosted a national academic conference, Reviewed and appointed Symposium staff; managed, delegated, and supervised Symposium staff, as well as achieved cite-checking and editing duties. Painter also worked at Arkansas Access to Justice Commission where she performed her duties as a clerk and consultant researcher for 6 months. She researched & authored a report cited in local & national publications examining the prevalence of self-representation in civil cases and its impact on case outcomes and the efficiency of court operations.
Chanley got lucky and secured a position at Court TV in Atlanta, Georgia, as a legal correspondent following her stepping down from Nexstar Media Group, Inc. While there, she was awarded the 2021 Scripps Give Light Award for leadership, dedication, & hard work in legal journalism. Painter has served at Chanley Painter Law in Arkansas and Tennessee, as an Attorney at Law since November 2011.
Chanley Painter Rwanda Trip
In May 2010, Painter relocated to Kigali, Rwanda in Africa, where she again played her role as a Consultant and researcher for Bridge2Rwanda for a period of 4 months. Her work involved extensive investigation and study of the competitive global market of American higher education and best practices research, as part of efforts towards greater educational opportunities in Rwanda, including the creation of the Isomo College Prep Center and the 2011 B2R Scholars Program.

In January 2016, Chanley joined the Nexstar Media Group team as a Legal Analyst & Former Prosecutor offering in-depth insight during the Beverly Carter murder trial & lead coverage during the Judge Wade Naramore Negligent Homicide trial. She worked to become an MMJ Reporter, utilized in both day & night-side live shows – pitching, booking, shooting, writing, editing & fronting stories.
Painter also experienced Interactive Live Shot Reporter for “KARK 4 Today,” “FOX 16 Good Day Arkansas,” and “KARK 4 News at 4 pm,” including producing, booking, & facilitating “fun live shot” locations & conducting the live, interactive interviews – such as going down water slides, kissing a camel, wearing a boa constrictor, & jumping out of an airplane. However, she exited the network in January 2019 after serving for 3 years and 1 month.
