Stacia Naquin is an American Emmy and Murrow award-winning reporter serving at WSYX as an anchor. She joined the Station in January 2017 after working as an Anchor and Reporter at 12 News (KPNX-TV, NBC).
Stacia Naquin Career | Education
Naquin enrolled at Cameron University in 1997 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), in Communication, General in 2001. She then joined the University of Oklahoma and earned a Master of Arts (M.A.), in Communication, General in 2004. She began her career at Cameron University where she worked as an Adjunct Professor from January 2005 to May 2008.
Naquin joined KSWO in June 2004 as a News Anchor & Executive Producer. After working for KSWO, she joined KKTV 11 News and worked as a news anchor for five years and five months. She left and worked for Pikes Peak Community College as an Adjunct Professor from January 2005 to December 2013.
In August 2012, she served as a lecturer at the University of Colorado Springs until December 2013. Then she left and worked for 12 News (KPNX-TV, NBC) from January 2014 to December 2016 as an anchor and reporter. Now she serves as a news anchor at WSYX ABC 6 & WTTE FOX 28. Here, she co-anchors alongside Bob Kendrick at 5, 6, and 11, as well as Fox 28 News at 10.
She’s a committed reporter who shines a light on the issues affecting the Central Ohio community, such as justice system reform, the opioid epidemic, and human trafficking. Throughout her career, she has reported stories from across the country, such as Super Bowl XLIX, Prince Harry’s visit to the United States, and the Aurora Theater shooting. When a deadly tornado occurred in Moore, she moved back to her hometown. The tornado left the viewers cleaning up and trying to recover.
Naquin has anchored extended breaking news reports of the coronavirus pandemic, deadly wildfires in Colorado, Black Lives Matter protests in downtown Columbus, and covered the most affected neighborhoods during the “Flood of the Century” in Phoenix.
She is a fan of the USO and volunteers every month at the USO Ohio Lounge after serving as the Chair of the Advisory Council for USO Arizona. She helped raise thousands of dollars that will help expand the Rocky Mountain USO facility on Fort Carson.
The Army Department awarded her the prestigious “Commander’s Award for Public Service” for developing a course in interpersonal communication for Fort Carson’s Transition University, a pilot program concentrating on assisting soldiers with their transition to civilian life, and also for serving as an instructor.
