Bartiromo graduated from New York University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and economics. Maria began her career in January 1993 as a Television Journalist at CNBC for over 20 years, where she worked until November 2013. Throughout her 20-year stint as the figurehead of CNBC, she initiated the network’s morning program, Squawk Box, hosted The Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo and served as the anchor and managing editor of the nationally syndicated On the Money with Maria Bartiromo, previously known as The Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo.
Following this, she joined Fox News Channel (FNC) as a journalist, where she tremendously served her role for a year. Concurrently, she also served as a journalist for USA TODAY in 2015 for less than a year. She serves as the anchor of Mornings with Maria on FBN, the leading pre-market business news program on cable, and also anchors Sunday Morning Futures on FOX News Channel (FNC)

Her first Emmy recognized her coverage of the 2007-2008 financial collapse and the “Bailout Talks Collapse,” which aired on NBC Nightly News in 2008. She later received a second Emmy for her 2009 documentary, “Inside the Mind of Google,” broadcast on CNBC. Maria also won a Gracie Award for her documentary “Greenspan: Power, Money & the American Dream,” also broadcast on CNBC.
In 2009, the Financial Times named her one of the “50 Faces That Shaped the Decade,”. She became the first female journalist to be inducted into the Cable Hall of Fame Class of 2011. In 2016, she was further honored by the Library of American Broadcasting as one of its Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts. Bartiromo is also an accomplished author, with books such as “The Weekend That Changed Wall Street” released in 2010.
Later, Maria extended her writing beyond books. She has contributed weekly columns to Business Week and Milano Finanza magazines, and monthly columns to USA Today, Ticker, and Reader’s Digest magazines. Her work has been featured in various publications including the Financial Times, Newsweek, Town and Country, Registered Rep, and the New York Post.
Beyond her journalistic endeavors, Bartiromo serves on the Board of Trustees of New York University, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Economic Club of New York. She also serves on the Board of Directors of The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF).
