Hollani Davis Biography
Hollani Davis is an American producer serving at WPTV as a news anchor. She joined the Station in 2014 after working as a reporter and anchor for WDBJ7.
Hollani Davis Career | Education
Davis attended Onate High School before joining Hampton University in 1999 and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), in Broadcast Journalism. At the University, she was a member of the Jack and Jill Palm Beach Chapter and belongs to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
She began her profession at KTXS News in Abilene, Texas Area as a Weekend Anchor, Reporter, and Producer. Here she worked for two years anchoring and solo producing 6 pm and 10 pm newscasts. In 2006, she joined WDBJ7 in the Roanoke, Virginia Area as a Reporter and Weekend Anchor until 2009. Here, she Co-produced and reported for weekend shows, Established and worked with sources within the 26 county market and Often led early weeknight newscasts with breaking news live shots or enterprised stories.
In 2010, she rejoined WDBJ7 and worked as an anchor and reporter until 2014. In early 2014, she initially joined her current station WPTV as a news anchor and traffic anchor where she worked for ten years and three months. At WPTV, she has reported the Surfside collapse, the historic flooding in Fort Lauderdale in April 2023, and the Parkland shooter verdict and sentencing.
She is South Florida’s favorite reporter, they love how she carries herself and the way she reports news. She aims to tell stories and push for accountability and answers. During the pandemic, she quarantined herself even more yet she was among the few journalists who physically reported to the TV station.
Throughout her career, she has earned several awards including; earning the 2022 “Anchor” award from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists. Apart from anchoring news, she emcees different community events and mentors youth. Davis supported families with premature babies Black Maternal Health.
