Reggie Wilson Biography
Reggie Wilson is an American News Personality working at KARE 11 News, an affiliate of NBC, serving as a Sports Director since he joined the station in September 2021. Formerly, Wilson worked at WCPO-TV as a Sports anchor and reporter.
Reggie Wilson Career/Education
Wilson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in radio-television journalism from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in the year 2012. Throughout his time there, he was employed by the local NBC station, KOMU-TV, as a sports anchor and multimedia reporter.
He is presently playing his role as a sports director at KARE 11 News, which is an affiliate of NBC, since he secured a position at the network in September 2021. Reggie made his first appearance on television as a photojournalist at KWCH 12 in Wichita, Kansas, after being away from television for over a year. He later advanced to the position of Sports Multimedia Journalist in the Dodge City bureau.
He has since worked at ABC22/FOX45 in Dayton, Ohio, and WCPO 9 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Reggie witnessed the unpleasant aspect of the industry in 2019: layoffs. Nothing in life is simple, as Wilson’s experience thus far has shown him, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
When Reggie first traveled to Minneapolis in 2015 for the NABJ National Convention, he had the opportunity to meet the incredible Boyd Huppert, who has since been a mentor to him. He takes great pride in belonging to both the National Association of Black Journalists and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Reggie adores establishing connections with individuals and hearing their tales. The joy of being a journalist is that it allows him to do both with compassion and provide the most engaging content to viewers every night, which is a challenge he relishes.

When he’s not out scouting for stories, Wilson likes to spend time with family and friends, go to church, work out, sing, and fervently support my favorite St. Louis sports teams (and Mizzou Tigers).
