Vytas Reid Biography

Vytas Reid is an American Emmy Award-Winning Meteorologist working as a Chief Meteorologist at CBS12 News in West Palm Beach, Florida. He anchors CBS12’s 5, 5:30, and 11 pm weathercasts. Before joining his current station he worked as a Chief Meteorologist for WBFF FOX45 in Baltimore for over a decade.

Education | Career

Reid attended and graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 1995 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Communications. He then joined Mississippi State University in 1997 graduating in 2000 with a Degree in Broadcast Meteorology. Additionally, he holds a seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society and is a member of the National Weather Association.

Reid currently works as a Chief Meteorologist at CBS12. He anchors the 5, 5:30, and 11 pm newscasts. He is honored to be part of the CBS12 weather team and is happy to serve the West Palm Beach folk. Before joining CBS 12 he worked at WBFF FOX 45 in Baltimore, Maryland, and is looking forward to connecting with the CBS 12 community.

Reid served WBFF FOX 45 for over a decade. Before joining WBFF FOX 45, he worked at Sinclair Broadcast Group’s News Central Weather operations in Maryland, producing weather forecasts for several nationwide television markets. He has also served as a meteorologist at WRTV ABC 6 in Indianapolis, and WKJG NBC 33 Fort Wayne in Indianapolis.

Further, Reid has served at WB 17 Philadelphia, PA, WXIN FOX 59 Indianapolis, and FOX 28 South Bend. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, he now calls Florida his home and enjoys being involved in a variety of activities within the community.

Vytas enjoys music, cultural events, traveling, and being outdoors to enjoy nature. One of Vytas’s hobbies is to DJ music, mixing tunes from House music to R&B, to popular dance music. He loves being involved with weather education and sharing how the weather works, through weather presentations at schools in the area. Vytas is an active member of the Baha’i Faith and holds the motto Let your vision be world-embracing.
