Marshall McPeek Biography
Marshall McPeek is an American Emmy award-winning meteorologist, serving at WSYX ABC6 as a Meteorologist and anchor. He joined the Station in September 2013 after working as an Anchor and Reporter for WCMH-TV.
Marshall McPeek Career | Education
McPeek attended Mississippi State University where he studied Broadcast Meteorology. He continued to further his education at Ohio University, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. McPeek started his broadcast career at WBCO-AM/WQEL-FM in Bucyrus when he was 14. He then worked at WSIL-TV3 in Carbondale, Harrisburg, and Marion, IL where he worked as an anchor and reporter.
McPeek then left and worked in Toledo, OH for WTOL-TV as an anchor and reporter from August 1993 to June 1997. There, he was the inaugural, solo anchor for a successful new, morning newscast and continued in that role until he left the market.
He then joined WKYC-TV3 in Cleveland, OH in June 1997 as a reporter and forecaster. He worked until August 2001 analyzing current conditions and complex model data, creating an accurate forecast presenting it all during live, and interpreting radar imagery.
After working for WKYC-TV3, he joined WEWS-TV5 in August 2001 as a forecaster and left in January 2022. There, he was responsible for assessing current weather conditions, creating of an accurate short- and long-term forecast and presentations during live television broadcasts, and radar analysis and model interpretation.
In 2002, he worked at WCMH-TV in Columbus, OH as an Anchor and Reporter monitoring and analyzing creating accurate short-term and long-term forecasts for broadcast and online distribution. Still in Columbus OH, he served as Principal of the MRM Media & Marketing, LLC since May 2012.
McPeek is not only a Meteorologist and anchor but has owned the MRM Innovations, LLC since September 2016. He joined WSYX ABC6 in September 2013 as an anchor, and on-air meteorologist for daily 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, and noon newscasts; co-hosting daily 8 am & 9 am broadcasts.
He joined the station after creating a successful marketing business in Key West, Florida. In his free time, he loves to explore the back roads of Central Ohio and meet the interesting people who make this one of the most fascinating places in the country, and travel.
