Lovingood Chris is an American award-winning journalist serving at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina as a news anchor and reporter, he joined the Station in August 2021 after working as a news anchor and reporter for WTAE-TV in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

Chris Lovingood Career | Education

Lovingood attended Western Illinois University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting in 2014. Chris started working for Rave Motion Pictures as an entry-level worker and worked his way up to supervising, and then to management for about 4 years.

Before joining the university, Chris worked in many places. He was a voice actor and sound producer at Illinois Central College from 2010 to 2012. While working at Illinois Central College, Lovingood hosted a show at 90.7FM WAZU. In May 2013, Chris got two jobs. On the one hand, he worked as a student reporter at Tri States Public Radio, on the other hand, he served as an executive producer at NEWS3 at WIU until May 2014.

Lovingood also worked as a senior game advisor at Gamestop for about 7 years. In May 2014, he joined WEEK-TV, working as a multimedia journalist and weekend weather until June 2016. Immediately, Chris transitioned to General Assignment Reporter, Fill-in Anchor, and Segment Producer at NBC2/ABC7 Waterman Broadcasting, where he worked for about 2 years.

Chris joined WTAE-TV in late June 2018 as a weekend morning anchor and weekday morning reporter. He continued with his diligent work and transitioned to a weekday anchor and reporter at WRAL-TV in August 2021. He reports for the 4, 5, 6, 10, and 11 pm newscasts, in addition to anchoring and fulfilling fill-in anchoring duties upon request. Enterprise reporting is also a key aspect of his responsibilities.
