Patrick Evans Biography
Patrick Evans is a renowned American Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist working as the Chief Meteorologist and host of Eye on the Desert on KESQ-TV (News Channel 3) in Palm Springs, California. He joined the station in 2002 making him one of the longest serving meteorologists in the Coachella Valley. Prior to his role at KESQ-TV, Evans worked at the Orange County News Channel in Santa Ana, California (from June 2000 to January 2002).

Evans attended the University of Virginia, where he graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Political Science. He serves as the Chief Meteorologist and host of Eye on the Desert on KESQ-TV (News Channel 3) in Palm Springs, California. In this role, he delivers weather coverage every weekday during the morning hours from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., and again from Noon to 1 p.m. Evans also hosts the popular lifestyle program “Eye on the Desert”. In addition to his on-air roles, Evans also contributes to Sunny 106.5 FM *every weekday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), where he usually plays the adult contemporary hits of the 80s, 90s and 2000s!
Before joining KESQ-TV in 2002, Evans had built his career through several notable stations including WVIR-TV in Charlottesville, Virginia, WDBJ-TV in Roanoke, Virginia, and the Orange County News Channel in Santa Ana, California. At WDBJ-TV, Evans had a ten year tenure (from August 1990 to May 2000), where he contributed to various newscasts including anchoring weather at 11pm, Noon Weather, and also field anchoring for “Live at Five” during the 5pm newscast. He had also brief stints at CBS2, OCN, and KPSP in Palm Springs.
Beyond media appearnaces, Evans is an avid contributor of the community, where he served in different organizational groups including the Desert Symphony, the Board of the Family YMCA of the Deserty, and the Loma Linda Children’s Hospital Foundation. Over his broadcasting career, he earned an Emmy Award for his work on the KESQ morning newscast, gained induction into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences ‘Silver Circle,’ and received the 366th Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars in April 2014.
