Education | Career
Puma is a 2016 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. During his time at the university, Puma served as a weather anchor for OU Nightly and also contributed as a voice-over at Sooner Sports Pad. Puma serves as the weekend meteorologist at WSOC-TV, the ABC affiliate in Charlotte, North Carolina. Occasionally, he interned at WGN-TV in Chicago, IL (had the opportunity to learn from veteran meteorologists), KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and KTEN TV in Sherman, TX – Ada (from June 2015 to August 2015). Later in April 2016, Puma was promoted to work as a full-time weekend meteorologist at KTEN-TV, where his main role was to produce weather forecasts three days a week on severe weather events. His work was recognized by the People’s Choice Award for being the Best Meteorologist in Texoma.

In addition to his career as a meteorologist, Puma served as a morning meteorologist at WEEK-TV in Peoria, Illinois. His most memorable time was during the coverage of the largest December tornado outbreak in Illinois history on December 1, 2018. It was also at this station that Puma became an AMS Certified Meteorologist in October 2019. His notable works also gained him recognition as the Best TV Weathercaster in Medium Market Television in Illinois in June 2019.
