Andrew Davis Biography

Andrew Davis is an American Award-Winning Anchor and Reporter working as an Investigative Reporter at WSAV-TV in Savannah, Georgia. He joined the station in July 2009 and initially served as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter. He assumed his current role in November 2012 as the station’s Investigative Reporter. Before joining his current station he worked as a Reporter and Anchor at WTOC-TV in Savannah, Georgia.

Education

Davis attended and graduated from London School in 1990 with a High School Diploma. He then joined Spring Gill College in 1990 graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications in Radio and TV. After graduating he began his professional career at WALA-TV where he worked as a Reporter and Replacement Anchor. He served the station for 12 years and 1 month leaving the station in January 2006.

Career

He currently serves as an investigative reporter at WSAV-TV in Savannah, Georgia. Andrew joined the station in July 2009 and worked as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter before being promoted to his current role as an Investigative Reporter in November 2012. Andrew is thrilled to be able to meet the people and tell the stories that mean so much to his adopted home.

Before joining his current station he worked as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter at WTOC-TV in Savannah, Georgia. He joined the station in February 2006 and left in April 2008. A transplanted Yankee, Andrew has called the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry home for almost two decades, where he met his wonderful wife, Lisa.

Over the years of his professional career, Andrew has received numerous awards and recognitions. He is a four-time Murrow Award winner, five-time AP Award winner, GABBY Award winner, and Emmy nominee. Further, he has been recognized for work on the local level by various municipalities, publications, and agencies as Best Reporter and Best Investigative Reporter.

Andrew was one of the first reporters to cover the Alex Murdaugh case, on scene during the search for Mallory Beach, at the scene when Paul and Maggie Murdaugh were killed, and in the courtroom for the entire Murdaugh murder trial. He was the lead anchor for a series of specials on the trial; the Trial of Alex Murdaugh was simulcast in both Savannah and Charleston television markets.

He has proudly represented WSAV-TV in several national documentaries on the case of HBO’s “Low Country: The Murdaugh Dynasty.” Netflix’s “Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal,” as well as shows on the CW network. Andrew has extensive experience with hurricane coverage in the Southeast, including the most recent Hurricane Matthew as well as Hurricane Katrina in both Mississippi and Alabama.
