Rodger Wyland is an American Award-Winning Sports Journalist working as a Sports Director at WNYT in Albany, New York. He joined the station back in 1986 as a Weekend Sports Anchor and Reporter. He now served as the station’s sports director anchoring at 6 and 11 pm. Further, he hosts Big Board Radio Sports Talk Weekdays from 10 am to 12 pm on WTMM, 104.5 The Team and ESPN Radio. He is also the play-by-play announcer for UAlbany Football and Basketball.

Rodger attended and graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Broadcasting in 1984. While in college, he was a play-by-play announcer at PSU basketball games for WPSX-TV.

Rodger currently serves as a Sports Director, anchoring at 6 and 11 pm at WNYT NewsChannel 13 in Albany, New York. He joined NewsChannel 13 in August 1986 as a weekend sports anchor and sports reporter. Before joining WNYT, Rodger was the Sports Director at WTAJ in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where he anchored sports on weekdays at 6 and 11 pm. His excellent work over the years has not gone unnoticed and he has received several awards including the Iris Award, presented for a half-hour special featuring triathlete John Gracey. Rodger is also the winner of three New York State Broadcasters Awards for local sports coverage.
