Steve Kuzj Biography
Steve Kuzj is an American Anchor and Reporter working as a co-anchor of WNYT NewsChannel 13 Live at 5, 5:30, 9, and 11 pm with Rachel Tiede. He joined the station in early 2024 after working at PIX11 in New York City, where he anchored news and sports and reported on the day’s major stories across the five boroughs. He joined the station in September 2021 and left the station in June 2023.
Education | Career
Kuzj attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and Business Management. While in college he worked as an Audio Visual Editor for Missisota Daily in the Great Minneapolis Area. He also worked as an Anchor, Reporter, and Producer at Schrurz Communications from July 2008 to January 2010.
Steve currently serves as a co-anchor at WNYT NewsChannel 13 Live at 5, 5:30, 9 p.m., and 11 p.m. with Rachel Tiede. He joined NewsChannel 13 in early 2024 after working as a Reporter and Anchor at PIX 11 in New York, where he anchored news and sports and reported on the day’s major stories across the five boroughs.
However, once an opportunity at News Channel 13 emerged, Steve was happy to make the change to be closer to his family. Kuzj began his professional career at WGCL in Atlanta as a Reporter. While there he worked as a team with photographers to turn lead stories for a 4 pm and then 6 pm.
In May 2010 he joined ABC 15 Arizona as a News and Sports Anchor. He served the station for 3 years leaving the station in April 2013. In April 2013 he joined KTLA in Hollywood, CA as a Reporter and Fill-in anchor. He served the station for 8 years and 6 months leaving in September 2021.
Over the years of his professional career, he has received several awards and recognitions. He has won a few Emmys and other awards along the way. With several years of improv comedy under his belt, Steve has no problem being relaxed and entertaining, whether in front of the camera or on stage.
