Dan Levy Biography
Dan Levy is an American Award-Winning Anchor and Reporter working as a News Anchor and Reporter at WNYT NewsChannel 13 in New York. Levy has covered both news and sports in the Capital Region since 1982. He is honored to be part of the WNYT News team and is happy to serve the New York people.
Education | Career
After attended and graduated from Albany High School with a high school diploma. He then went on to study public communication at the College of Saint Rose. While at Saint Rose, he was a four-year member of the varsity baseball and basketball teams.
After college, Dan worked in radio as a news reporter, talk show host, and play-by-play broadcaster; in print, where he was a feature writer and columnist; and in television, he has been a producer, a news and sports anchor, and a general assignment reporter.
Levy currently serves as a WNYT NewsChannel 13 in New York. He joined the station in 2010 and has covered Sports and News in the Capital Reigion since 1982. In 1992, he was at the State Capitol when Marion Cuomon decided not run for president.
Further, he was in New York City to cover the former governor’s funeral in 2015. Dan has also covered everything from murder trials to church sex scandals, and from devastating floods to deadly tornadoes.
Additionally, he was in Watertown, Mass on the night Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was taken into custody, and he was in New York City on the night American Airlines Flight 587 crashed into a Queens neighborhood two months after 9/11.
