Education | Career
Colon attended and graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in meteorology and a Spanish minor and is a proud Hokie. While in college, she danced, participated in multiple cultural organizations, and helped run a free grocery store and food access program for VT students.
Alivia currently serves as a Weekend Meteorologist and Multimedia journalist at WETM in Elmira, New York. She joined the 18 Storm Team in July of 2023. Before joining WETM, she filled in over the winter at WVVA as the weekend meteorologist in Bluefield, West Virginia. Alivia is excited to move to this neck of the woods so that she can get plenty of snow and learn all that the Twin Tiers have to offer.
She was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia, and has always been interested in the sciences but found a passion for weather when she was in the 4th grade. Some of her fondest memories are watching the weather every morning with her parents, wishing to see even a little bit of snow each winter.
