Susan Cort Biography
Susan Cort is an American Anchor and Reporter working as a Health Reporter at WHTM ABC27 for the Good Day PA segment. Besides that, she is also the director of communications for local marketing and communications agency, JPL, a role she has held since 2005.
Education | Career
Cort attended and graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism. She began her professional career as an 11 p.m. news anchor and reporter at the NBC affiliate in Johnstown, PA. Later on, she moved to the Midstate to serve as a weekend and then noon anchor and health reporter for the CBS affiliate. Additionally, she was the longtime co-host of Saturday Mornings on WHP-AM, a lifestyle radio talk show.
Susan currently serves as a Health Reporter at WHTM ABC27 for the Good Day PA segment. Additionally, she is the director of communications for local marketing and communications agency, JPL, a role she has held since 2005. Cort is honored to serve the Harrisburg folk and to be part of the WHTM news team.
Besides her professional work, Susan is also devoted to helping the community. She is extremely devoted to community service and has served on many boards including The Hershey Symphony Orchestra, The Hershey Theatre, the Children’s Miracle Network, The Downtown Hershey Association, The Hershey Rotary Club, and the Hershey Area Playhouse.
Further, Susan helps lead a local diversity, equity, and inclusion group, called Hershey All Things Diversity. From 2016 to 2021, Susan served as a Derry Township supervisor. Her charity work over the years has not gone unrecognized and she was awarded the Women of Excellence Award by the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg and the Women of Influence Award by the Central Penn Business Journal. Susan is also a vocalist with the Hershey Symphony Big Band and has performed in many community theatre productions.
