Jackson Chastain Biography
Jackson Chastain is an American Meteorologist working as a Weekend Morning and Evening Meteorologist at WHTM ABC27 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He anchors the Saturday and Sunday Morning weathercasts at 6:00 am and 8:00 am alongside co-anchor Kayla Schmidt. Further, he anchors the Saturday night weathercasts at 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm.

Chastain attended and graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in 2021. He then joined Mississippi State University graduating in May 2023 with a Master of Science in Meteorology with an emphasis on broadcasting and a minor in GIS. Chastain began his broadcasting career at WCBI in Columbus, MS where he worked for nearly 2 years.
During his tenure at WCBI, he covered everything from daybreak shows to major tornado outbreaks. He currently serves as a Weekend Morning and Evening Meteorologist at WHTM ABC 27 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. You can catch Jackson bright and early Saturday and Sunday mornings at 6:00 am and 8:00 am with co-anchor Kayla Schmidt, and Saturday nights at 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Additionally, you can also catch him filling in from time to time for other meteorologists at the station.
Chastain is not quite sure what the spark was, but Jackson has always been a fan of the weather, having fond memories of watching the movie Twister as a kid and spotting storms on the porch with his grandmother. This was one of the many factors that opted Chasting into choosing Meteorology as a career.
Born in San Diego, California, he spent the first half of his childhood living in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois in a small town called Plainfield, which had experienced the wrath of an F5 tornado in August of 1990. Moving to the Dallas metropolitan area later on, he got the opportunity to experience a new brand of weather in a place where severe thunderstorms and tornadoes were more common.
