Dan Tomaso Biography
Dan Tomaso is an American Meteorologist working as a Weekend Evening Meteorologist at WHTM ABC27 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He anchors the weekend weathercasts at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dan has been part of the ABC27 weather team since August 2009 when he accepted a part-time position at the station while still in college. He officially joined the statin as a full-time meteorologist in 2015.

Tomas attended and graduated from Penn State University and was part of the Bachelor, Masters, and PH.D. programs working for Dr. Raymond G. Najjar. During his college years, he worked at ABC27 mainly on weekends and during school breaks. In August 2013, he completed his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Meteorology through the prestigious Penn State Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Program.
Dan continues to broaden his weather and forecasting education as a broadcast meteorologist seal holder for the National Weather Association, a certification he received in February 2019. After graduating he joined WHTM ABC 27 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and has been working there ever since. He is the station’s weekend 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm meteorologist.
Going back to where it all started, In 1997, Hurricane Danny inspired him to study meteorology due to the name. As a native of Harrisburg, he watched the local weather for fun and learned as much as he could from evening newscasts on ABC27 with the StormTrack Team. He first began communicating his weather knowledge over a closed-circuit television channel entitled the Royal News Network at Saint Catherine Laboure School during his seventh and eighth-grade years.
In 2003, a special broadcast on this channel featured Chuck Rhodes as a guest co-anchor, who further inspired Dan to pursue the study of meteorology. Besides his professional work, Dan also enjoys participating and volunteering in local events.
