Barczewski graduated from St. Dominic High School with a high school; diploma. She then attended and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio and Television Reporting and Anchoring in 2016. While in college she worked as a Sales Associate at Victoria’s Secret for about 8 months. She joined the organization in June 2014 and left in 2015.
Laura currently serves as a multi-skilled journalist at KSDK-TV 5 On Your Side in St. Louis, Missouri. She has been part of the station since May 2022 and is honored to serve the St. Louis folk. Laura’s work as a weekend anchor and reporter in Mobile, Alabama played a part in winning a 2021 local Nappie Award for Best Weekend TV News Team. She began her professional career in May 2016 after joining WUSA-TV as a Digital Content Producer. She served the station for 4 months before leaving in August 2016.
Laura also served KOMU-TV for 2 years and 1 month. Her story on the history of Black Columbia was a part of KOMU’s 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award win for Excellence in Website. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her cat, Pumpkin, being with her friends and family, and teaching barre classes.
