Christie Casciano is an American journalist serving at NewsChannel 9 WSYR as a News Anchor/Children’s Author and USA Hockey Magazine columnist, she joined the Station in October 1988 after working as a reporter for WROC-TV.

Casciano was educated at Bishop Grimes High School before enrolling at Syracuse University to study Broadcast Journalism. She is an Experienced News Anchor with a demonstrated history of working in the broadcast media industry. She is the recipient of many community and professional awards such as the Governor’s Traffic Safety Award, and the Syracuse Press Club’s Professional Standards Award, she received a proclamation from the Onondaga County Executive naming December 29, 2012, as Christie Casciano Day, and The New York State Gang Violence Task Force Media Award. Additionally, she earned an Emmy nomination and the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for her investigative series on the heroin epidemic.

Casciano has come together with Tim Fox to write “Syracuse Television History” and NewsChannel 9’s Lou Gulino.
