Kelci O’Donnell Education
O’Donnell attended college after completing her high school education. In college, she participated on the Hokies DI Women’s Lacrosse team. She continued to further her studies by enrolling at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Journalism and a Sports Media/Analytics minor in 2019. During her senior season, she was a four-year letterman and captain.
Moreover, she worked off-screen behind the scenes when she joined the Athletic Leadership Program. On campus, she represented Love Your Melon for pediatric oncology patient awareness. While still at the university, she was a member of the Women in Sports Media Organization. In 2018, she held an internship at Fox 29 Good Day Philadelphia.

O’Donnell Currently works for WSPA/7NEWS as a Saturday and Sunday anchor. Before she was promoted to work as a weekend anchor, she used to work for WSPA/7NEWS as a multimedia journalist.
Before joining the station, she worked in Greenville, N.C. for WNCT for nearly two and a half years as a digital sports reporter. While working for WNCT in Greenville, she helped in many departments including; news, sports, and digital.
Additionally, she has reported everything including, local elections, hurricanes, and a countless number of athletic events. Apart from being an anchor, she co-hosts ACC This Week on the CW.
O’Donnell has also been seen in stations like KTLA-TV (Los Angeles, CA), WFLA-TV (Tampa, FL), WPIX-TV (New York, NY), WGN-TV (Chicago, IL), KFOR-TV (Oklahoma City, OK), KOIN-TV (Portland, OR), KRON-TV (San Francisco, CA.
In the year 2021, O’Donnell served East Carolina University Athletics and ESPN as a women’s lacrosse Color Commentator. That same year, her report behind the scenes ( the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in Morehead City)earned her an RTDNAC award for being the top original digital video. When she’s not working, she concentrates on her health, goes to the gym, tries new places to grab a bite to eat, and explores the outdoors.
