Diane Lee Biography
Diane Lee is an American Emmy-nominated anchor and two-time Emmy Award-winning reporter serving at WSPA as a Consumer Anchor. She joined the Station in October 2015 after working as a Morning News Anchor/Dayside Reporter for WSPA.
Diane Lee Career | Education
Lee attended Northwestern University, earning her Bachelor of Science – BS, in Broadcast Journalism. She began her career at WRNN TV, initially working as a Multimedia Journalist. There she wrote and edited daily stories in the Hudson Valley and New York City areas from 2000 to 2002. Lee then changed her role to working as an Anchor/Reporter for the same station. She Solo-Anchored 6:30 p.m. broadcast and shot, wrote, and edited daily turns.
In 2004, she joined WBRE-TV/WYOU-TV in Scranton, Pennsylvania Area where she served as an Evening Anchor until 2006. Here, she Produced, wrote, and edited special, award-winning reports and Co-anchored the 6 p.m. and solo-anchored 11 p.m. newscasts, on weekdays. She then left and joined WXXA Fox 23 in the Albany, New York Area as a Morning News Anchor.
Lee joined WSPA in the Greenville, South Carolina Area in 2009 as a Morning News Anchor/Dayside Reporter. She was employed as a morning co-anchor at WSPA-TV. Also, she reported every day after 4 hours of anchoring, mainly on consumer stories. She currently got promoted to 5 pm and then 6 pm Consumer Anchor. Lee has over two decades of news experience as a broadcaster.
Apart from working at the desk, she also loves singing together with the Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble and Spartanburg Community Band. In six weeks, she was able to raise $20,000 by producing a Christmas CD for the Children’s Miracle Network. She is always appointed to perform the national anthem to open professional sporting events, not long ago the 2019 live broadcast of the SEC Tournament in Greenville.

Throughout the Southeast, she was selected as the Best Anchor among broadcasters in 2018. Before that, she wrote a story on protecting oneself from identity theft which won her a Southeast Regional Emmy Award. She also wrote a story on a debt-collection scam which earned her an Emmy.
