After graduating from the Academy of the Holy Names, a private Catholic preparatory school in Tampa, McEnany pursued a major in international politics at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C. During her time there, she also studied abroad at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, where she was taught politics by future British Labour politician Nick Thomas-Symonds. Following her graduation from Georgetown in 2010, McEnany worked as a producer on the Mike Huckabee Show for three years.
Initially, McEnany attended the University of Miami School of Law for her first year (1L) before transferring to Harvard Law School. During her time at the Miami School of Law, she received the Bruce J. Winick Award for Excellence, a scholarship given to students in the top 1% of their class. She ultimately graduated from Harvard in 2016. Kayleigh is currently performing her duties as a co-host of ‘Outnumbered’ which airs on weekdays 12 PM/ET on FOX News since she obtained employment in March 2021.
She also contributes as an on-air commentator across all FOX News Media platforms. Before that, she served as White House Press Secretary under former President Donald Trump, from April 2020 until the end of his term. Prior to her role at the White House, she held the title of national spokesperson for the Republican National Committee and later joined the Trump campaign as national press secretary.
She began her political career as an intern for former Rep. Adam Putnam (R-FL) and later worked in the White House Office of Media Affairs during President George W. Bush’s administration. Additionally, before her time at the White House, McEnany worked as a political analyst at CNN. She also contributed to The Hill and wrote columns for Above the Law. Her media career started as an intern at FOX News, where she later became a production assistant. Kayleigh wrote The New American Revolution: The Making of a Populist Movement, her debut book, in 2018.
