Leslie received her Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications from Northeastern University in the year 1985. Later, she pursued a Masters in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College. Marshall transitioned to talk radio after years of anchoring, reporting, and hosting music programs. She kicked off her talk radio career at WNWS in Miami, remaining there for three years. Next, she took on mid-day slots at WGR in Buffalo and KPRC in Houston. In 1992, Marshall stepped in to replace Tom Snyder on the ABC Satellite Radio Network. Her program ran successfully for three years, airing on over 200 stations nationwide.
Following the network’s dissolution, Leslie found herself at WLS-FM in Chicago, hosting an afternoon drive talk show. She later moved to KGO radio in San Francisco and hosted a midday show on KHTK/Hot Talk in Sacramento. On television, she helmed “Bay Talk” on KRON-TV, the local NBC affiliate.
Returning to Chicago at WLS two years later, she also co-hosted “Beyond the Beltway” on WGR-TV and stayed in the Windy City for over two years. Later, she joined her husband in Los Angeles, where she hosted talk shows on various stations like KFI, KLSX, and KABC on weekends. Ultimately, she was signed to KLAC, KFI’s sister station, where she hosted early evening weeknights for two years. When KLAC switched formats, Marshall opted to remain in Los Angeles with her husband.
After KLAC transitioned to music, Marshall hosted her show for a year on WWKB in Buffalo, New York, a station with a strong signal heard throughout the northeastern United States and the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Subsequently, she was nationally syndicated, and her show now airs every weeknight on WWKB.
