Trace Gallagher Biography
Gallagher Trace is an American journalist serving at Fox News as a Chief Breaking News Correspondent and anchor, he joined the Station in October 1996 during the network’s launch after working as an anchor and reporter for the local NBC stations in Las Vegas, Boise, Idaho, and Yuma, Arizona and the local CBS station in Orlando, Florida.

Career
Before he joined the network in 1996, Gallagher worked as an anchor and reporter at local NBC stations in Las Vegas, Boise, Idaho, and Yuma, Arizona, as well as at the local CBS station in Orlando, Florida. He balanced football and business studies at The University of San Diego and Antelope Valley College, where he earned recognition as a distinguished alumnus.
Trace has been with FNC since its launch in 1996, covering major breaking news stories. Recently, he reported live from Jerusalem during the Israel-Hamas war. He took over as permanent host of Fox News at Night on September 21, 2022, replacing founding host Shannon Bream, who had been named host of Fox News Sunday. He has been hosting the program since October 3, 2022. Moreover, he contributed to FNC’s Midterm Election coverage. Previously, he provided live coverage of events such as the death of Queen Elizabeth II and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, anchoring overnight special reports as the conflict unfolded. He also extensively covered the Covid pandemic over the last two years and the California recall election of Governor Gavin Newsom in 2021.
Throughout his tenure, Gallagher has reported on numerous global stories including conflicts in the Middle East and the Southeast Asia tsunami. He received praise for his coverage of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and the mass shooting in Las Vegas in 2017. Before that, he spent five years co-anchoring FNC’s The Live Desk in New York alongside Martha MacCallum.
