Richard Fowler Biography
Fowler Richard is an American Jamaican journalist and project manager serving at Fox News as a contributor, he joined the Station in September 2016 after working as a communications specialist and speechwriter for the American Federation of Teachers.
Richard Fowler Education
Fowler embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs and Economics from George Washington University, which he completed from 2005 to 2008. In 2010, he obtained a Master’s Certification in Project Management from Georgetown University. Building on his academic pursuits, he later returned to Georgetown University to complete a Master’s degree in Journalism in December 2022.
Career
Since May 2008, Fowler has been deeply engaged in various roles that have shaped his career in communication, media, and advocacy. As the campaign manager and chief strategist for Obama for Unity (State Committee Slate) from May 2008 to October 2008, he successfully managed primary election campaigns for District of Columbia Democratic state committee candidates, resulting in the election of over 60% of the slate.
From January 2009 to April 2012, Fowler co-founded and directed the Phoenix Freedom Political Action Committee (PFPAC). He focused on increasing awareness about surface multi-modal transportation policies across the United States. During this time, he monitored federal legislation, prepared action alerts and editorials, and cultivated a donor base of 50+ individuals and organizations.
Additionally, Fowler served as the Executive Director of Generational Alliance, a youth civic engagement alliance non-profit with 22 national organizations. He supervised a team and launched a media training program resulting in dozens of primetime television bookings for graduates for 9 months. Since January 2013, he has also been the Co-Founder and Principal Consultant at Richard Media Company. It is a boutique communications and design firm located in Washington, DC, specializing in smart storytelling, strategic media placement, and savvy content creation, with a focus on telling better stories for the Black and Brown community worldwide.
Simultaneously, Fowler hosted and served as the Executive Producer of The Richard Fowler Show (Nationally Syndicated) since January 2012. He planned, hosted, and produced the interactive two-hour talk radio show. From March 2013 to June 2017, he worked as a Communications Specialist and Speechwriter at the American Federation of Teachers, developing strategic communication plans for the union’s healthcare, higher education, and Civil Rights sectors. Since September 2016, he has been a Contributor for Fox News Channel. Moreover, he has been a contributing writer since May 2021, for Forbes, providing insights and analysis. Currently, he is also serving as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University. He has been contributing to the education of students in communication and media since January 2024.
