Ted Reinstein Biography
Ted Reinstein is an American Award-winning Journalist working at WCVB serving as a Reporter since he joined the station in February 1988. Formerly, Reinstein worked at The Travel Channel as a Correspondent and Host.
Ted Reinstein Career/Education
Reinstein studied at Brandeis University from 1983 to 1988 and earned his Bachelor degree in Valedictorian and a Master’s degree in Theatre Arts and Political Science. He is currently performing his duties at the WCVB station as a reporter since he obtained employment at the network in February 1988. In addition, he has contributed to the WCVB editorial board since the year 2010.
Prior to becoming part of the WCVB Network, Reinstein served at The Travel Channel where he was a host as well as a correspondent for a period of 2 years. Ted has hosted television shows for HGTV and the Discovery Channel in the past. He investigated Tahiti’s South Pacific islands, Puerto Rico’s caves, and Hawaii’s volcanoes for the Travel Channel’s photo/adventure series “FreezeFrame.”
Reinstein was a member of the Chronicle team that won the esteemed National DuPont-Columbia Broadcast Journalism Award in 2002 for their coverage of the Big Dig project in Boston. He was honored with an Emmy Award in 2018 for his reporting on Providence, Rhode Island’s “Good Night Lights” phenomena.
New England Notebook: One Reporter, Six States, Uncommon Stories, published in 2013 by Globe-Pequot Press, an imprint of Rowman & Littlefield, is one of Ted’s four books. It was listed as one of National Geographic Traveler’s “Best Picks.”
In addition, he co-wrote New England’s General Stores: Exploring an American Classic with his wife, Anne-Marie, and authored Wicked Pissed: New England’s Most Famous Feuds. In 2021, Lyons Press published his most recent book, Before Brooklyn: The Unsung Heroes Who Helped Break Baseball’s Color Barrier.
