Richards is an American Emmy-winning anchor serving at FOX 5 as a morning anchor. Before being a morning anchor, she joined the station as an MMJ in 2015.
Aric Richards’s Career | Education
Richards worked for the NBC station in Bakersfield as a reporter. He also interned here after completing his high school education. Before working as a reporter, he worked in Kern County as a producer. He dropped out of college to tackle his career in the news industry and to work fully in the newsroom. It was a hard decision to make but it later brought him many privileges.
He works as a morning anchor at the FOX 5. When he first joined the station, he wrote, shot, and edited his stories for the evening newscasts. During the 2015 winter, he began reporting at 4 a.m. with the help of a photographer filming and editing his stories.
Richards has reported some of the biggest breaking news in their region including the deadliest in U.S. history and the mass shooting in Las Vegas in 2017. Also, he reported residential visits and been on the front lines of major wildfires in California, along with many trips to the U.S.-Mexico border covering the immigration crisis.
He is a proud board member of the Asian American Journalists Association. When he is not working, he loves to hike in La Jolla and travel to different countries. Richards likes traveling alone so he can the culture and way of life.
