Furthermore, John has served as editor-in-chief for global business trends in New York City from December 2010 to December 2012, as Chief of the Tokyo Bureau for a duration of 1 year and 2 months in Tokyo, Japan, as editor of features, and as a reporter in multiple Midwest bureaus.
He provided a first-hand account of a collection of segments on the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that won the Pulitzer Prize. Three Pulitzer Prizes and six Overseas Press Club Awards for overseas coverage have been given to his staff. John belongs to the Council on Foreign Relations as well.
