Upon completing her high school diploma, Falk embarked on her broadcasting and video production journey. Transitioning seamlessly, she earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, solidifying her foundation in the field.
Following her graduation, Sheri’s journalism career commenced behind the scenes at NBCUniversal in her hometown of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There, she worked as a traffic producer for local radio stations. Subsequently, she also served as a floor director in Miramar, Florida from 2007 to 2008, further honing her skills in broadcasting. Transitioning seamlessly, she later assumed the role of anchor and reporter at Raycom Media in March 2008, demonstrating continued excellence in her field until March 2013.
After her tenure at Raycom Media, Falk seamlessly transitioned to the role of morning news anchor at WBMA-TV, a part of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, from March 2013 to March 2016 in Birmingham, Alabama. Subsequently, she later moved on to her current position as evening co-anchor at WVTM 13, a Hearst Television affiliate, since September 2016. Additionally, she also serves as an anchor and reporter for WVTM 13, further establishing her presence in Birmingham, Alabama, since April 2016.
Sheri also covered the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and witnessed the 2012 execution of a 35-year-old man convicted of murder at 18. In 2013, she reported on the February tornado that devastated Hattiesburg. In 2014, Sheri played a crucial role in ABC 33/40’s “Don’t Text and Drive” campaign, which was honored with the Best Community Service Project award by the Alabama Broadcasters Association.
Moreover, Sheri has garnered multiple accolades for her exemplary work as a journalist. She has received recognition from both the Mississippi Associated Press and the Alabama Broadcasters Association. Additionally, she was honored with an Edward R. Murrow award for her outstanding breaking news coverage of the tragic 2022 shooting at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Vestavia Hills.
