Minor studied at James Madison University from 1986 to 1992, where he earned his Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Mass Communication and Media Studies. His focus was on electronic media, which aligns with his passion for music. Tarik is presently performing his duties as an anchor and reporter for News4Jax since he became part of the network in March 2010. Since then, he has made a name for himself as an ambitious go-getter who loves telling stories.
Tarik spent ten years as the Volusia County bureau chief at WKMG-TV, Local 6, in Orlando before relocating to Jacksonville. In this role, he was in charge of covering news in sixteen communities every day. Minor can anchor and has a lot of experience with live shots. But when Tarik met Melanie Lawson in 2006 while reporting a trial in St. Augustine, his life narrative took a different turn. Now coworkers in the same newsroom, the two have a similar dedication to the community.
