After completing her high school diploma, Walker later transitioned to Penn State University, where she pursued a degree in meteorology. Before coming to Birmingham, Stephanie’s professional career began with forecasting snowstorms and nor’easters while in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Transitioning from there, her focus shifted to tracking tropical weather and hurricanes in Florida.
Since joining WVTM13 in 2000, Stephanie has remained a steadfast meteorologist, covering significant weather events in central Alabama. Over the span of two decades, she has expertly navigated through moments such as Hurricane Ivan and the tragic tornado outbreak on April 27th, 2011. In addition, the crippling snow and ice storm of 2014, which is often referred to as Snowmageddon.
