Richard Nunn is an American Weather Forecaster working at News4Jax serving as a Chief Meteorologist since he joined the station in March 2004. Formerly, Nunn worked at KPTV Fox 12 Portland as a Meteorologist.
Richard Nunn Career | Education
Nunn studied at the University of Florida from the year 1992 to the year 1995 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism upon completing his studies. He is currently performing his duties at News4Jax, serving as a chief meteorologist since he became part of the network in March 2004. Richard is not just Channel 4’s Chief Meteorologist but also a master forecaster, comedy foil, foodie, home renovation, and beer enthusiast.
Prior to securing employment at his current station, Richard worked at KPTV Fox 12 Portland, Oregon Area, where he played his role as a meteorologist from 2003 to 2004. He was a freelance meteorologist and weekend Show co-host. Additionally, Nunn also served at NW32TV, which was formally KWBP-TV32, in the Portland, Oregon Area, as a chief meteorologist from the year 1999 to 2003. At the station, he was the chief meteorologist for a young and progressive WB audience.
When asked about becoming the Chief at WJXT, Richard said he began working there nineteen years ago as the weekend meteorologist. He went about his training with John during the mornings and with Chief Meteorologist George Winterling in the evenings. After a shuffle and a few changes, John moved to evenings with George. When George retired, John was promoted to Chief of the meteorology team. He has guided the team through numerous storms and tropical activities during his time as Chief.
