Kent Justice Biography
Kent Justice is an American News Personality working at News4Jax serving as an Anchor and Reporter since he joined the station in October 2010. Formerly, Justice worked at the Alzheimer’s Association North & Central Florida Chapter as a Board Chairman.
Kent Justice Career | Education
Justice studied at James Logan High School from 1982 to 1986 and received his Diploma. He later enrolled at Pepperdine University from 1986 to 1990 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications with a minor in Music. He is currently performing his duties as an anchor and reporter at News4Jax since he secured a position at the network in October 2010.
On weeknights, Kent co-anchors News4Jax’s newscasts at five, ten, and eleven o’clock, reporting on politics and government. Additionally, he is the host of Channel 4’s popular subjects and politics public affairs program, “This Week in Jacksonville,” which airs every Sunday at 9 am. Kent converses with business executives, nonprofit activists, and civic leaders about the major concerns facing our community.
Justice has covered everything from municipal elections for public office to national political party conventions and inaugurations as a political reporter; as well as everything in between. Experienced as a debate moderator, Kent co-moderated a nationally televised debate between Florida governors Charlie Crist and Rick Scott in 2014 with CNN’s Jake Tapper.
Most recently, before the primary election, Kent organized a forum or debate with the front-runners for Florida governor. Along with state attorney candidates, he moderated debates for congressional candidates in Districts 4 and 5, as well as an unprecedented three debates in three evenings in August 2016.
Justice has reported from South Dakota, Montana, Santa Barbara, California, and the Central Coast of the state of Ohio. At the age of seventeen, Kent began working as a sports writer for a major newspaper chain in the San Francisco region.
Kent Justice Community Activities
Since moving to Northeast Florida in 2010, Justice has been actively involved in community activities. In 2019, he became a member of the Jacksonville Civic Orchestra’s board of directors. Prior to this, Kent oversaw the board of directors of the Central and North Florida Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, which covers 31 counties.
Additionally, he has given to the Communications Academy Advisory Board at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, HandsOn Jacksonville, the PACT Prevention Coalition of St. Johns County, and the ASSIST program for homeless adolescents in St. Johns County Schools. Kent helps out as a volunteer musician and pastor at his St. Johns County home church. Furthermore, he provides event support to the following organizations: the National Brain Tumor Society, Mayo Clinic, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, UF Health Night for Heroes, and National Philanthropy Day.
