Jamal St Cyr is an American Award-winning Journalist working at News4jax serving as a Sports Anchor and Reporter since he joined the station in July 2019. Formerly, Jamal worked at WDEF-TV as a Morning News and Sports Anchor.
Jamal St Cyr Career | Education
Jamal studied at Clark Atlanta University from the year 2008 to 2012 and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and Media Studies. In addition to co-hosting the two-time award-winning sports talk program From the PressBox on CAU-TV, he was a football player. Jamal is currently playing his role at the News4Jax network serving as a sports anchor and reporter since he obtained employment in July 2019. He relocated to Jacksonville from Chattanooga, Tennessee, the Scenic City, where he worked at WDEF as a co-host of Touchdown Friday Night Football, a sports anchor, and a morning news anchor.
In addition to co-hosting the radio show 5th Quarter at 106.4 FM ESPN and contributing to Tennessee Valley Adventures and One Tank Trips, Jamal is an award-winning sports anchor. He covered numerous news and sporting events while working at WDEF, including Hurricane Florence in Wilmington, North Carolina, the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, the Super Bowl in Atlanta, the NCAA tournament in Iowa, and many more.
Jamal was employed as a multi-media journalist at KYLE/KWKT in Bryan/College Station, Texas before he joined the WDEF crew. He worked for WDEF for almost 5 years and during his time there, he
coordinated the content and presentation across different platforms for the Weekend Crews. In addition, he anchored, reported, and produced Friday Night Football shows, special broadcasts, and weekend sportscasts. Further, he took the role of organizing, and managing Touchdown Friday night Crew. It is Jamal who created “Monday Morning Mash up,” and the “TDFN play of the week” that generated Tens of Thousands of views for the station’s web page. Additionally, he built a Twitter following of over 1,800 which is still growing by the day.
Jamal is a die-hard supporter of the Saints and Pelicans and is originally from New Orleans. He likes to work out, go on outdoor activities with his dogs, Beaux and Erin, and take advantage of Florida’s beautiful weather.
