Bruce Hamilton Career | Education
Hamilton studied at Temple University from 1973 to 1977 and received his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. He is currently performing his duties as a News Anchor at News4Jax network since he obtained employment at the station in February 2001. For eighteen years, an Emmy Award-winning journalist for newspapers, radio, and television has anchored Channel 4’s The Morning Show. Bruce was a Philadelphia high school student when he first fulfilled his dream of becoming a broadcaster.
His work as a newsman has carried him from his hometown to Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tucson, Arizona, Orlando, and Jacksonville over the course of his career. Hamilton has conducted one-on-one interviews with a number of international leaders as well as presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton along the way.
Bruce also reported from breaking news locations across the globe and covered the main political conventions. The Central Florida Press Club, the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences, and a number of other civic, religious, and journalistic organizations have all honored his reporting.

Bruce Hamilton Illness
In August 2023, Bruce got sick and was hospitalized, he even got off The Morning Show’s and the anchor’s desk. He underwent a major surgery and took a long way to recovery. Thankfully, he finally got much better. Bruce was sharing updates with his fans on his social media platforms informing them of his recovery journey. The Memorial Hospital where Bruce was admitted did a very successful open heart surgery where they replaced Bruce’s heart valve and repaired the aortic aneurysm. His road to recovery had some hurdles and challenges but so far so good. Although he is still taking medications, he is much better in 2024 and is already back to his morning show.
